AND OUR GOOD BRAINS ARE BEING WASTED AWAY IN OUR PRESENCE.

Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa.

Friday, April 8th, 2022 will forever be a day I can’t forget in a hurry.

It was a day when the Chairman of Trade Union Congress, Kwara State, Comrade Akinwunmi Sunday Akinsola who was killed by the bandits in the train attack of March 28th was buried at his hometown in Oluke town via Ifo, Ogun State .

I saw the body of a young promising man being wasted due to insecurity in the Land and the carelessness of those that ought to provide security for us.

His young wife and his two boys have lost a great breadwinner. The pain was boldly seen on their faces at the funeral. If truly tears could bring back the dead, Akinwunmi would have risen up yesterday.

We live in a country where no one is safe again. The road transport system is bad, air travel is something else, sea is terrifying one while the rail that we thought will ease our pain is now a death trap.

We can’t continue like this in our Country. If the government knows that they can’t protect our lives again according to the National President of Trade Union Congress, Comrade Quadri Olaleye, let the President resign honorably.

Where should the young widow start from? What about the sweet promises the father had made for his boys?. Who will fight for the struggle of the workers again from his place of work?.

Suddenly, the voice for the common man was shut down by the trigger of a gun .

Must we fold our arms and allow our good brains be wasted by the failed system we found ourselves in?.

One thing is sure the blood of the innocents shed will definitely cry for vengeance on those that ought to do the needful for the Masses.

To all the fallen heroes in the last Kaduna Abuja rail incident, continue to rest in peace and be rest assured that your blood can not be wasted just like that.

Thanks.

Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa.

Writes from Ogun State.
