Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed reports that he plans to step down for another candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
His media aide, Paul Ibe, clarified that Atiku’s BBC Hausa interview was misrepresented. According to him, the former Vice President only encouraged young politicians to join the contest but never said he would withdraw.
Atiku, the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, insists he will support any credible candidate that emerges through a transparent primary, including a younger aspirant.
