CDC Champions Get Comprehensive Training On Use Of CDC Automation For Submission, Data Management and Tracking Of Projects

In continuation of the on going 2 day Citizens Capacity Strengthening on utilization of Community Development Chapter (CDC) Application to accelerate timelines in the submission of needs for consideration into the Local Government and State Budgets, Ihifix Innovation Foundation gave a comprehensive training on use of CDC  Submission, Data Management and Automation of CDC Tracking Tool to Community Development Charter (CDC) Champions.

The Capacity Strengthening which is organized by Kaduna state Local Government Accountability Mechanism (KADLGAM) in collaboration with Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) is informed by the need to involve the citizens in the budget creation process.

Mr Emmanuel Edikpe, Chief Executive Officer of Ihifix Innovation Foundation, while facilitating the practical session said the tracking tool will help in automating the budgeting process. Stressing that it’s a tool that will seamlessly aid the integration of the needs of the communities and by extension needs of the citizens in budget creation in the state.

Adejo Abel, State Lead Facilitator, PERL

The State Lead Facilitator of PERL, Adejor Abel, encouraged the CDC Champions not to rest on their Oars as the knowledge acquired in the capacity building training will make them more skillful in both the creation of budget and tracking of the implementation of the budget process.

Participants who are draw from the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna state showed high level of interest in learning and use of the CDC platform https://citizensdemand.org to improve efficiency in the submission of the CDC nominated projects for inclusion in the budget.

Inclusion of CDC nominated projects in the state budget was passed by the state house of assembly and signed into law by the government in 2017
