Gov of Kwara state Knocks Saraki, Ahmed Over UBEC Funds

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has taken a swipe at the immediate past Senate President Bukola Saraki and members of the opposition PDP in the state over alleged embezzlement of the Universal Basic Education Commission funds.

The governor during the inauguration of the campaign council of APC senatorial candidate for Kwara Central Saliu Mustapha in Ilorin particularly accused former Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed of zero investment in the primary education sector.

He said his administration had been clearing the mess inherited from the misgovernance of the past which had slowed him down on projects.

But the Chief Press Secretary to former governor Ahmed, Wahab Oba said the governor was a confused person and If he had any infraction against them, then he should go to court as The UBEC counterpart fund was a choice between payment of workers’ salaries and counterpart fund and as a responsible governor, Ahmed chose the former because of the financial situation then.
