The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), a group of Nigerian democrats, is urging President Bola Tinubu to step down amidst the country’s severe domestic and international crises.
They are urging him to resign from his position to avoid causing further damage. This call for resignation is similar to what they did in the past when they urged the military government of Sani Abacha to step down and allow the winner of the 1993 election, M.K.O. Abiola, to take office. The controversies surrounding Tinubu’s life are cited as the reason for his resignation.
According to a recent letter titled “Tinubu: Resign and Save Nigeria from further Embarrassment,” Nigeria is currently facing a severe crisis that is affecting its international image, domestic stability, and regional standing.
The nation is viewed with contempt on the international stage, and its economy is in a state of disarray. The people of Nigeria are desperate for change. It’s worth noting that the value of a dollar is almost equivalent to that of a thousand naira.
The unwavering pursuit of the presidency by an individual has caused significant destruction and has even put institutions such as Chicago State University on the verge of losing international credibility and accreditation, according to the letter sent by NADECO.
“This perilous journey, fueled by one man’s relentless ambition has led to the heartbreaking ignorance of the collective suffering of Nigerians by Tinubu and the APC.
“In a plea to rescue Nigeria from the clutches of Tinubu’s questionable ambitions, NADECO USA implores Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to liberate himself and the over 200 million Nigerians from the impending implosion.
“If Mr. Tinubu chooses to resign, perhaps Nigerians will find it in their hearts to forgive, and the secrecy legacy he leaves behind at CSU may no longer bear the stain of his political pursuits. He should be advised to do the needful.
