Sokoto NAOWA Chapter assures of completing new nursery, primary school in January 2018

By Ado Hassan, Sokoto

Sokoto state chapter of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) at the weekend said it will ensure the completion of ongoing construction of new nursery and primary schools at the Giginya Barracks by January 2018.

The Chairperson of NAOWA, Mrs. Elise Nwosu, made the disclosure at the end of the year party organised for children at the 1 Brigade Giginya Barracks, Sokoto.

She said this was part of her commitment to the educational development of their members, and members of the host community.

“There is a new nursery and primary school recently established by NAOWA in the barracks but it is not functional yet.

“By God’s grace, it will be functional by January 2018 and that is our own little contribution towards the education of our children,”she said.

She said the Association has been involved in the provision of social services targeted at women, youths, children and other vulnerable members of the society.

The chairperson appealed to the parents to take good care of the children to avoid them going astray, saying a party was organised by NAOWA for them at the barracks to make them happy.

“This is part of the activity we do as the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives to keep the children busy and happy. The achievement is to see them happy and once the kids are happy, we are fulfilled.

“I am appealing to the parents to take good care of the children especially now that most of the husbands are not on ground.

“They should not see it as an avenue for the children to go astray but should keep them together,”she stated.
