The Managing Director/CEO Taraba Investment and Properties Limited, Mr. Iliya Ezekiel, said, he rather die than for him not to perform his designated duties and assignment. He spoke point blank that he will not leave any stone unturn until he revived all the dilapidated state companies and properties as assigned to him by the Governor. Adding that all will be revived under his watch and sustainable profit will be delivered.
Mr. Iliya Ezekiel was a Banker over two decades and also an economist by discipline. He is a fellow of many Nigerian institutes and had also received many awards of Excellence. He is a Trained Certificate holder of Queens school of Business, Canada. He also recently bagged award of fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Administrators.
Speaking with journalists on the Taraba State Investments, Mr. Ezekiel said, before he was appointed the MD/CEO of the Taraba State Investment and Properties Limited, some of the companies were moribund and others were not in good shape. Pointing that most of the companies and Properties were bad but through his effort and the grand support of the Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, today some of the key properties have been revived and others were strengthened to give better profit ever delivered.
Mentioning his achievements, Mr. Ezekiel noted that his management under the present administration has revived about 5 completely dilapidated properties belonging to the state and these are; Mambilla Beverages Nigeria LTD; Taraba Gas Limited; Trip Poly Products Ltd; Taraba Oil Mills Ltd and Viva feedmill Ltd. While many were strengthened. Adding that others are on the pipeline.
He noted: “We have done a lot in terms of reviving most of the moribund Taraba State properties. He however, pointed out that Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku met eventually nothing on ground but through the efforts of His Excellency, who came with a strong secured rescue mission and he was able to inject funds into all the properties and Subsidiaries listed, this is how we were able to do what we have done.
“Do you know that through the revival of all these companies, we have been able to employ a lot of our young youths. Many of them are now gainful employed, reducing social vices and crimes. The reason why people are criticing this government is because they don’t know the importance of companies. All they want to see are roads and roads cannot put food on their tables daily. You cannot employ anybody on the roads except the police and taxis, but you can employ somebody into a company, which will eventually put food on his/her table 3 times aside the multiplier effects of the other factors of Production. He is equally handling many roads for the citizens just like other past administrations.
“When I was appointed, I committed that before I leave this office, with the support of the Governor, no single company or property belonging to Taraba State government will remain abandoned. As the Governor is ready to do more for the People in reviving many companies. I will ensure that all are revived because I will do all humanly possible within my powers to make sure I achieve my goals of performance. I have received a lot of treats, but I refused to bow to the demand of people. Sometimes I closed from my office around 12 am midnight, planning and strategizing on the way forward. I also make personal sacrifices to ensure we move forward. And as I said, I will not spear anyone who temper with what the Governor has built for our people and what we have laboured for our children’s future.
“I so much have confidence on the administration of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, because he has done what other past Governors could not do. He resuscitated these companies and properties that were abandoned for more than10 to 15 years ago.
”Apart from that, Taraba state is now rated the highest in terms of state government investments. All states in the north, no single one can be compared with Taraba State. Many of them have come to me and were asking how we are doing it.
“Let me tell you, we have begun to get foreign partners who wants our products. Infact, we have already started exporting some of our products to other countries and we do hope that within the shortest period of time our products will be available everywhere. I also believe with our direct foreign partnership, we will be able to raise our IGR very high”, he said.
He however, commended the Governor for his resilience effort in moving Taraba Investment forward in terms of industrial revolutions and development.
