While village head Ishaku Danazumi confirmed that 80 others who successfully fled the initial attack have safely returned to their homes, the fate of those still in captivity hangs in the balance.
The incident unfolded when armed bandits stormed a church in Kajuru Local Government Area, sparking a chaotic scene where dozens were bundled away while others narrowly escaped into the surrounding bush.
Although the 80 returnees are reported to be in good health after nearly two weeks in hiding, security operatives are currently intensifying tactical rescue operations to secure the release of the remaining victims still held in the forest.
