Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, kept their qualification hopes alive at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a 0–0 draw against China at the Arena Sosnowiec in Poland.

The result earned Nigeria their first point in Group F, recovering from their 2–0 opening-match defeat to reigning champions Spain.
Despite creating several goal-scoring opportunities throughout the encounter, the Falconets were unable to find the back of the net, forcing both sides to settle for a point each.
China, who opened their tournament with a 5–0 win over New Caledonia, moved to four points to remain second in the group standings. Spain leads Group F with six points and has already secured qualification for the Round of 16 following consecutive victories.
Nigeria will face New Caledonia in their final group fixture on Sunday, September 13.
The Falconets must secure a decisive win to bolster their chances of advancing to the knockout phase, as any further dropped points would signal an early exit from the tournament.
