The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fully restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a temporary platform outage, clearing the pathway for tertiary institutions to resume admission exercises for the 2026/2027 academic session.

In a statement issued on Monday, the examination body confirmed that the portal is now operational, directing higher institutions nationwide to accelerate processing activities to recover lost operational time and comply with established admission schedules.
Under the approved guidelines, public universities have been given until October 31, 2026, to conclude their admission processes, while private universities retain a deadline of November 30, 2026. Other tertiary institutions are expected to wrap up their admissions by December 31, 2026.
The Board urged candidates offered admission to accept them promptly on the portal and instructed applicants who had been awaiting results to immediately upload and verify their newly released 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination credentials on CAPS.
Expressing regret over the disruption caused by the administrative outage, JAMB commended candidates, tertiary institutions, and stakeholders for their patience while reiterating its commitment to maintaining platform stability for the remainder of the admission cycle.
