The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released its updated figures on registered voters ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Lagos State recording the highest number of voters nationwide.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting and press briefing in Abuja, INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan revealed that the national voters’ register now stands at 103,428,715 following the completion of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and subsequent biometric verification.
According to the commission, the top 10 states by voter enrollment are:
Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Benue, Ogun and Bauchi State
Professor Amupitan noted that the three-phase CVR exercise registered 10,772,421 new voters prior to the automated biometric clean-up.
The commission further announced that the updated voters’ register will be displayed nationwide at registration areas and local government offices for public scrutiny from October 9 to October 15, 2026.
