The publication of the updated register has prompted widespread concern and protests among affected political platforms, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as party secretariats move to resolve the discrepancies.

While several political organizations attribute the missing entries to technical and administrative errors during the documentation process, others remain entangled in internal leadership tussles, parallel nominations, and ongoing court proceedings.

The Action Alliance (AA) has threatened legal action against the commission to enforce the reinstatement of its excluded candidates on the official ballot.

The disputes raise key legal and administrative questions regarding candidate eligibility, submission protocols, and available statutory remedies. Legal analysts warn that unless resolved ahead of statutory deadlines, the ongoing omissions could trigger a wave of pre-election litigation impacting party representation in the 2027 general elections.
