The actress, who was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday and transferred to Abuja on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge involving cyberstalking and criminal defamation.

The prosecution alleges that in 2024, Okorie conspired to defame Mercy Johnson Okojie by labeling her a “blood-sucking demon” on Instagram and TikTok.

Defense counsel Alex Ejesieme (SAN) requested administrative bail, but the court ordered her remand pending a formal hearing scheduled for January 30.

In a statement released Thursday, Okorie’s management asserted her innocence, claiming she was not served court papers until just before the hearing and was initially denied legal access.

They further noted that both actresses had reached a mutual settlement and apology agreement in July 2025.

While Mercy Johnson has not commented directly on the arrest, she recently issued a public warning that she would no longer tolerate cyberbullying against her family in 2026.
