The project, which cost 40 billion Naira, was built by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to improve safety and monitor traffic on the busy highway.
The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, launched the center on Sunday.
During the event, he explained that when the current government took office, the bridge was in a very bad state.
Following orders from the President, the government carried out a complete repair of the bridge’s road surface and replaced the expansion joints to make it safer for drivers.
The new CCTV system is the final part of this upgrade, designed to provide 24-hour surveillance to prevent crime and respond quickly to accidents.
