The demand was triggered by a motion from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu during a Finance Committee hearing, where lawmakers expressed outrage over Magaji’s absence while the President’s economic team was present to discuss national matters.
Describing the Registrar-General’s conduct as a persistent affront to constitutional oversight, the Senate resolved that his refusal to provide an account of the commission’s activities warrants his removal from office.
