In a clarifying statement issued on Monday, McKenzie corrected a previous assertion by his deputy, Peace Mabel, who had suggested that Morocco had withdrawn from its hosting duties with only five weeks remaining until the March 17 kickoff.

The Minister emphasized that no formal decision has been reached to relocate the tournament, reaffirming that Morocco remains the official host. By intervening directly, McKenzie aimed to resolve the confusion sparked within the ministry and provide clarity to the international football community, ensuring that preparations continue under the original arrangement despite the internal miscommunication.
