VDM Re-Arraigned for Alleged Cyberbullying of Nollywood Actresses

Controversial social media personality, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was on Thursday re-arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos on charges of cyberbullying and defamation.

The Federal Government amended the charges against VDM, accusing him of using his online platforms to repeatedly target and harass several Nollywood actresses through what prosecutors described as “malicious and injurious publications.”

VDM pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution alleged that his actions violate provisions of the Cybercrime Act, particularly those relating to the use of computer systems for defamation, harassment, and threats. Specific details of the actresses allegedly targeted were not disclosed in court.

The presiding judge granted that the defendant continue on previously granted bail and adjourned the case for further hearing.

VDM has remained a polarizing figure on social media, known for his blunt commentary on public figures and controversial topics.
