Kaduna state governor, Sen. Uba Sani has directed the immediate payment of all out standing debts accrued from 2022 to the Kaduna electric company to enable the restoration of power supply to the Kafachan and Kaduna campuses of the Kaduna state University.

The governor made the move via a press statement signed by the chief press secretary to the state, Muhammed Lawal Shebu on 4th November 2023.
Procyon Media recalls that the Kaduna state versity student had embarked on a two days peaceful protest demostration on the 11th and 12th of October 2023 following a 5month power outage in the Kafanchan campus of the university.
In view of the protest the governor has responded as captured in a press release by his chief press secretary.

Excerpt of the release reads, “Kaduna State Governor, His Excellency Uba Sani has directed the immediate payment of all outstanding debts accrued from 2022 to the Kaduna Electric Company to enable the restoration of power supply to the Kafanchan and Kaduna Campuses of the Kaduna State University.”
It further stated, “Following the findings and recommendations of the Commissioner of Education, Governor Sani directed that all outstanding debts from 2022 be paid to ensure that power supply is restored to both campuses.”
