Senator Lalong Celebrates Prof. Bibiana Fungyel Bawa at 81

Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, has extended warm birthday wishes to renowned educationist, Professor Mrs. Bibiana Fungyel Bawa, as she marked her 81st birthday.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Senator Lalong expressed immense joy and gratitude to God for preserving the life of Prof. Bawa in good health and strength, describing her as “an exceptional woman of character and intellect who has left indelible marks in Nigeria’s educational landscape.”

Celebrating her legacy, Senator Lalong praised Prof. Bawa’s decades-long commitment to education, mentorship, and community development. He noted that as a principal and later as a professor at the University of Jos, she distinguished herself through discipline, love, and an unwavering sense of responsibility.

“Her mentorship has shaped the lives of many young people who are now making significant contributions in various fields both in Nigeria and around the world,” Lalong stated.

The Senator also lauded her consistent dedication to community service, her active support of government development initiatives, and her exemplary service within the church. “She is a role model in every sense — in academia, in the community, and in the church, where she has continued to serve God and humanity faithfully,” he added.
