The match, played at the Stade Omnisport ADjohoun, sealed Nigeria’s dominance in the three-team, round-robin tournament.

The victory completed a double rout over the Princesses, whom the Falconets had defeated 3-1 in their opening fixture.

Nigeria was already 2-0 up against Ghana before the 25th minute, with Janet Akekoromowei and Alaba Olabiyi scoring the first two goals, and Ramotalahi Kareem adding the final goal in the 61st minute.

The win propelled Nigeria to nine points and a superior goal difference of plus-eight, maintaining a record of scoring three goals in each of their three matches. Their campaign also included a 3-0 dismantling of host nation Benin Republic on Sunday.

The Falconets have now won the WAFU B title with a game in hand (against Benin on Wednesday, which is now largely ceremonial), highlighting their impressive form in West African women’s football.
