The win came despite the team being reduced to six players in the first half following a red card for Faruk Yusuf.

This playoff success sets up a final fifth-place encounter against Angola on Sunday.

The winner of that match will secure Africa’s final ticket to the World Championship in Germany. If Nigeria wins, it will mark their first appearance at the global tournament in 26 years, dating back to 1999.
