Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, to begin final preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Nigerian delegation checked into the Ibis Hotel upon arrival, where the technical crew and players will base their training routines ahead of their opening tournament fixtures.
Head coach Akeem Busari has finalized a 21-player squad for the global showpiece, with team captain Harmony Chidi leading the squad. The Flamingos qualified for the tournament following their victory at the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Championship.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group B alongside Poland, Puerto Rico, and two-time defending champions Korea DPR. All three of Nigeria’s group matches will take place at the Women’s Football Complex in Rabat.
The team will open its campaign against Poland on Saturday, October 17, before taking on Puerto Rico on October 20. Their final group match will be against Korea DPR on October 23.
The tournament represents Nigeria’s ninth appearance at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with their best performance coming in 2022 when they secured third place.
