DeeOne issued the warning on Thursday in response to comments attributed to the police chief advising citizens against video recording police officers on duty.

Speaking on the issue, IGP Disu had urged Nigerians to show restraint when exercising their right to record officers during official operations, stating that the practice demoralizes police personnel.

Countering the IGP’s position, DeeOne expressed concern that such remarks could inadvertently embolden unethical officers to harass and intimidate motorists and pedestrians.

The comedian urged the police chief to prioritize fostering mutual trust, cooperation, and synergy between law enforcement and the public rather than issuing statements capable of provoking widespread public outrage.
