The Christian Media Forum (CMF) has congratulated the Publisher of TG News, Mr. Tom Garba, on his appointment as Executive Director of Television at the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
In a statement issued in Kaduna on Thursday, September 11, 2026, the organisation described Garba’s appointment as well deserved, saying it reflected his years of commitment to journalism, grassroots reporting, professionalism and community development.
The statement, signed by the CMF President, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, and Secretary, Andrew Ibrahim Mshelia, said Garba had distinguished himself through what it described as a commitment to truth, integrity and professional journalism.
The forum said Garba’s work through TG News had contributed to the growth of digital journalism in Kaduna, Adamawa and other parts of Northern Nigeria by providing platforms for communities and individuals whose concerns might otherwise receive limited media attention.
According to the CMF, Garba’s record of promoting accountability and maintaining professional standards makes him suitable for the new responsibility at KSMC Television.
The organisation further expressed confidence that his experience in journalism and media management would contribute to the development and repositioning of KSMC TV.
“As a body of Christian media professionals, the CMF is particularly proud that a man of faith, character and competence has been found worthy for this strategic assignment,” the statement said.
The forum said it expected Garba to bring innovation and transformational leadership to the state-owned television station, with the ultimate goal of strengthening its role in promoting unity, development and credible information in Kaduna State and beyond.
The CMF also pledged its support and collaboration to the newly appointed Executive Director, while wishing him wisdom and strength as he assumes office.
The organisation described Garba as a “worthy ambassador” and expressed optimism that his new assignment would provide an opportunity for him to further contribute to the Nigerian media industry.
