The workshop, held from October 6th to 7th under the theme “From Evidence to Influence,” brought together members of the Human Resources for Health Technical Working Group, KADLGAM, OGP, government institutions, and development partners.
The session focused on finalizing three draft advocacy briefs designed to tackle key challenges in health workforce recruitment, deployment, financing, and management across Kaduna State.
Providing a breakdown of the two-day deliberations and the outcomes of the session, Health Secretary for the Kaduna Local Government Accountability Mechanism, Waniya Ilu, outlined what was achieved and the expectations moving forward.

Addressing concerns around policy implementation, the State Lead of KADLGAM, Yusuf Goje, emphasized the measures being put in place to ensure the validated strategy yields actionable results rather than remaining just talk.
In a closing remark, the Local Government Area Facilitator and Consultant with the UK-supported Lafiya Program commended participants for their active engagement and commitment throughout the session.

The finalized advocacy briefs will now be deployed as a unified advocacy tool to lobby decision-makers for sustainable health workforce reforms across all 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
