The 27-year-old French star achieved the feat on Wednesday night during Real Madrid’s thrilling 4–3 victory over AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital.
Mbappé, aged 27 years and 298 days, marked the occasion by scoring the equalizing goal to make it 1–1 before Los Blancos went on to seal the seven-goal thriller.
With this appearance, he becomes only the fifth French footballer to reach a century of matches in Europe’s elite club competition.
The previous record for the youngest player to hit 100 Champions League appearances was held by Lionel Messi, who reached the milestone against Roma on September 16, 2015, at the age of 28 years and 84 days.
