Speaking during a recent event organized by her record label, EeZee Conceptz, the singer disclosed that she actively processed residency documentation to avoid returning, but her plans ultimately failed.
“I travelled. I ran away from Nigeria. I was processing my papers not to come back to Nigeria, but for some reason, it didn’t work,” Ekile said.
The *Project Fame* winner explained that while she was living abroad, the Chief Executive Officer of EeZee Conceptz, Ezekiel Thankgod, was the only individual from Nigeria who maintained regular contact and offered continuous encouragement. That constant communication eventually persuaded her to return home.
Upon her return, Ekile requested a gospel recording contract from the label, clarifying that the move was not driven by commercial motives but by a desire to build a deeper personal relationship with God.
She added that the resulting agreement was structured so favorably toward her spiritual development that her legal representative remarked it resembled a charitable arrangement rather than a standard commercial contract.
