The National Sports Commission (NSC) announced in a statement on Monday, November 2, 2026, that each player received the naira equivalent of $100,000 (approximately ₦140 million), while coaches and technical crew officials were paid $50,000 each.

The financial disbursement completes the full presidential reward package. Players had previously received title documents for three-bedroom apartments located in Abuja and were conferred with the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The Chairman of the NSC, Mallam Shehu Dikko, commended President Tinubu for fulfilling his commitment, noting that the prompt disbursement was made possible through seamless collaboration between the NSC, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

Dikko said added that the development marks a decisive departure from past delays and will boost morale across Nigerian athletics.

Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade expressed appreciation on behalf of the squad, describing the gesture as an encouraging recognition of the team’s dedication to national service.
