Recently, this commitment to excellence has been highlighted by the extraordinary achievements of the Enactus Federal Polytechnic Kaduna team, which has emerged as a symbol of pride, innovation, and perseverance for polytechnics across the country.
Enactus Kaduna Federal Polytechnic has once again showcased its prowess by clinching the title of Second Runner-Up in the Schneider Electric Battery Innovation Challenge 1.0. Building on this success, the team has made history by being selected among the Top 5 competitors in the ongoing Schneider Electric Battery Innovation Challenge 2.0. Adding to the accolades, the team is also gearing up to compete in the ActionWithAfrica advance stage challenge in 2025, further solidifying its role as a leader in innovative solutions.
What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is that Kaduna Federal Polytechnic is the sole polytechnic represented at this level, competing alongside esteemed institutions such as Ahmadu Bello University, Bayero University Kano, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. This not only elevates the status of the institution but also inspires students and faculty alike to aspire for greatness.
The team’s Project Manager, Miss Habiba Suleiman, articulated the pride that resonates throughout the institution: “This rare achievement has brought great pride and glory to our school, placing its name on the map as a center of innovation, creativity, and excellence. We have shown the world that polytechnic students can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the country.”
The journey towards these accomplishments is not solely a testament to hard work but also to the unwavering support from the school’s leadership and community. The team extends its heartfelt gratitude to several key figures whose encouragement has fueled their success. Special acknowledgment goes to the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Umar, whose vision and leadership are foundational to the institution’s achievements. Likewise, Faculty Adviser Dr. A.O. Lawal and Assistant Faculty Advisor Malam Mahmuda, along with the Dean of Student Affairs and the, have played essential roles in providing guidance and mentorship. The Alumni Network’s continued involvement is also vital, serving as a reminder of the strong community that underpins the institution.
Team Lead, Silas Akertyo, emphasized, “This success is not just ours; it belongs to Kaduna Federal Polytechnic. It belongs to every student, lecturers, and staff member. It is a reminder that when we work together, we can achieve greatness.”
As the Enactus team prepares for the upcoming Enactus Nigeria National Competition scheduled for July 2nd and 3rd in less than 30 days to come, they are tirelessly working to present a project focused on addressing real-world challenges. This initiative is not just an endeavor for recognition; it’s an opportunity to elevate Kaduna Federal Polytechnic’s name further and highlight the institution’s commitment to creating impactful solutions through youth-driven innovation.
