The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a total and comprehensive two-week warning strike affecting all public universities across Nigeria.

The union’s National President, Professor Chris Piwuna, made the announcement during a press conference held on Sunday at the University of Abuja.
Professor Piwuna stated that the union was moving forward with the industrial action because there had been no meaningful progress or substantial response from relevant authorities since the 14-day notice was issued on September 28, 2025.
He directed all ASUU branches across the country to commence a full withdrawal of their services starting at midnight on Monday, October 13, 2025. The strike is declared as total and comprehensive, following the resolution reached at the union’s recent National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
