Nigerian skit maker and comedian Abdulgafar Ahmad Oluwatoyin, popularly known as The Cute Abiola, has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the persistent electricity crisis across the country, lamenting that the situation has worsened to the point where even his private solar power system has run out of charge.

In a video shared on his social media page, the comedian expressed frustration over prolonged power outages and the daily hardship faced by citizens due to unreliable electricity supply.
He appealed directly to President Tinubu to urgently address the national power challenge rather than prioritising political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Cute Abiola, the failure of the national grid has forced many households and businesses to rely entirely on alternative energy sources, which are becoming increasingly unsustainable without supplementary grid power.
“Even my solar has gone off,” the comedian said in the clip, describing the severe strain the lack of electricity is placing on ordinary Nigerians.
He further faulted what he characterised as the administration’s preoccupation with President Tinubu’s re-election campaign while basic infrastructure and essential public services remain unresolved.
The comedian’s remarks add to growing public debate over the state of Nigeria’s power sector as political campaigns ramp up ahead of the 2027 polls.
