Mr. Abubakar made the statement on Wednesday at a press briefing held at the National Defence College, Abuja, to mark the commencement of activities for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

His comments came a day after FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his entourage were stopped by soldiers from accessing a piece of land in the Gaduwa district of Abuja. The incident escalated into a heated confrontation.

The FCT Minister expressed his displeasure with the soldiers’ actions, questioning their authority and presence at the site. Wike reportedly emphasized that “no one is above the laws of the land” and alleged that due process was not followed in the development of the land they were guarding.

The Defence Minister’s declaration serves as a timely reassurance to military personnel following the highly publicized standoff. CULLED FROM CHANNELS
