Governor Uba Sani has assured Kaduna State residents that his administration will prioritize fair and adequate compensation for property owners affected by urban renewal, distancing his approach from the mass demolitions of the past.

Speaking in Rigasa on Wednesday, the Governor distributed compensation cheques to 189 households impacted by the ongoing construction of the Makera, Lokoja, Ado Gwaram, and Asmau Makarfi Spur roads.
Although these projects began in September 2025 and have seen steady technical progress, Governor Sani explained that work was temporarily slowed to conduct a transparent assessment of properties within the right-of-way.
This move aims to balance essential infrastructure development with the protection of citizens’ livelihoods and moral rights.
