The Inspector General of Police has approved an investigation into popular relationship therapist Blessing Okoro following a petition filed by social media critic Martins Vincent Otse also known as VeryDarkMan.

The probe centers on claims made by Okoro on March 25 2026 where she tearfully announced a stage four cancer diagnosis and began auctioning her properties to fund medical treatment.
Doubts regarding her condition intensified after the Delta State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association disowned a histology report she shared online stating the document appeared to be an altered version of a report belonging to a different breast cancer patient.
Although Okoro had initially used the medical documents to solicit public financial assistance she later retracted her statements following widespread allegations of manipulation and a significant public backlash.
