During an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the actress addressed the concerns raised by religious leaders who had previously condemned the title as an “offensive” and “crude” depiction of a sacred holiday.
Edo clarified that the title was intended as a creative choice rather than a deliberate attempt to mock the Christian faith or diminish the spiritual significance of the season.
Admitting that she was “deeply affected” by the backlash, the filmmaker expressed regret for any pain caused, stating that she did not anticipate the title would trigger such a strong negative reaction.
While she defended the artistic intent behind the project, she emphasized her respect for the Christian community and her commitment to maintaining religious sensitivity in her future work.
