Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has defended women who aspire to marriage, asserting that desiring to become a wife does not signal desperation or a lack of personal ambition.

The actress expressed her views in a statement shared on her Instagram page, advocating for women’s autonomy to pursue their life choices without facing societal criticism or judgment.
Olayode argued that mutual respect should be accorded to both women who choose to remain single and those who desire marital union. She maintained that being enthusiastic about marriage does not diminish a woman’s career achievements or intrinsic purpose.
While acknowledging that some marriages face difficulties or dissolution, Olayode emphasized that many individuals continue to view the institution as a positive union and aspire to experience it.
She also cited a personal experience at a salon, where she overheard women mocking another individual simply for expressing a desire to marry, prompting her decision to address the topic publicly.
