Media personnel in Kaduna State have received a specialized, two-day training on leveraging radio platforms for conflict prevention and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

The workshop, which focused on the production of radio jingles, was held from October 21st to October 22nd, 2025, at the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority.
The event was organized by Green Advocacy for Conflict Prevention and Resilience Building in partnership with Spring.

The Team Lead for Green Advocacy, Babagana F. Isa, stated the core objective of the training was to promote peace-building in communities and to equip journalists with alternative ways to settle disputes outside of conventional adversarial processes.
The training acknowledged the crucial role the media plays in either escalating or mitigating local conflicts.
The workshop content, delivered by consultant Zigwai Ayuba, was highly practical and covered several key areas such as

Communication Principles of ADR, Conflict-Sensitive Reporting,
Practical Production Skills, Hands-on training in scripting, voicing, and producing radio jingles specifically tailored for local audiences, Media as a Peace Tool,
Countering Hate Speech, Developing
positive messaging strategies to address misinformation and incitement, Gender Sensitivities, Ensuring that reportage and programming include gender mainstreaming.
Participants were assigned practical exercises to ensure comprehension, including identifying best strategies for positive messaging and determining means for gender mainstreaming in radio programming. PROCON
