KADUNA – In a major step toward health sector reform, the Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussein, has announced the launch of a toll-free line (08000044433) aimed at enhancing service delivery in Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the local government area.
The initiative, launched with the full support of the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, is designed to create an open and accessible platform for residents to report issues, lodge complaints, and provide feedback on the quality of healthcare services they receive.
According to Hon. Hussein, the move aligns with the broader vision of Governor Uba Sani to improve healthcare across all 255 PHCs in the state by promoting transparency, accountability, and responsiveness.
“This initiative is more than a complaint channel; it is a tool for change,” the chairman said. “It allows every citizen — regardless of background — to speak up whenever they encounter poor service, neglect, or misconduct in any of our health facilities.”
He emphasized that the toll-free line is confidential, free of charge, and available to all residents of Kaduna South. The local government, he assured, is committed to acting on all reports and ensuring that healthcare providers uphold professional standards.
“We will not tolerate any form of negligence or indiscipline within our healthcare system,” he declared. “With your help, we will continue to monitor, improve, and rebuild trust between service providers and the community.”
Hon. Hussein urged residents to actively use the toll-free line, noting that improved public engagement is critical to achieving a healthier and more equitable healthcare system.
“Let us continue to work together to build a healthier Kaduna South — for today and for generations to come,” he concluded.
The launch is being widely regarded as a significant milestone in grassroots health reform, with hopes that it will foster a culture of accountability and drive long-term improvements in health outcomes across the area.
