The meeting held on the 30th of April at the planning and budget commission conference hall in Kaduna state.

The meeting served as a critical step in finalizing a roadmap for transparency and governance that aligns with the current administration’s vision.

The event commenced with a goodwill message from the Honourable Commissioner, Mukhtar Ahmed, who emphasized the state’s commitment to the OGP process.

Following the Commissioner’s remarks, the OGP Point of Contact, Tara Jeremiah, outlined the meeting’s primary objectives.

Key among these was the review of milestones proposed by the Technical Working Groups (TWGs) across five critical commitment areas:

  1. Access to Information
  2. Anti-Corruption
  3. Budget Transparency
  4. Citizen Engagement
  5. Service Delivery

Jeremiah noted that these milestones have been specifically designed to align with the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency Mallam Uba Sani’s administration.

Furthermore, the session aimed to ensure the state meets the international minimum standard of co-creation, requiring the Open Government Partnership community to formally adopt and validate the revised action plan.

The validation process ensures that the proposed milestones are cleaned, adopted, and ready for implementation through 2027, fostering a culture of accountability and partnership between the government and its citizens. PROCYON
