Kebbi state first lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris has bagged the Inspirational Leadership on Grassroots Development Award at the 2025 International Women’s Day Conference held in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal.

Hajiya Idris won the prestigious award for her outstanding contributions to community empowerment and her tireless efforts to improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable groups in Kebbi State through her initiative, ” the Nasara Women Development Foundation”
The award came at the 2025 International Women’s Day Conference held in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal.
The conference with theme “Accelerate Action: A Call to Ignite, Empower, and Engage African Women for Transformative Realities.” attracted the participation of influential women leaders, policymakers and advocates from across Africa including the Kebbi state first lady.
Speaking, Hajiya Zainab Nadare Idris who acknowledged and expressed expressed gratitude for the recognition, dedicated the award to the resilient women of Kebbi State.
She urged women leaders to remain inspired and steadfast in accelerating action for transformative change across African continent reaffirming her commitment to championing programs and policies that promote inclusive growth, empowerment, and sustainable development, a release on Monday by Khadijat Sa’idu, Press Secretary to the first lady said.
