The dispute began when graphic designers criticized the initiative as speculative work and unpaid labor arguing that it devalued professional services by requiring entries without guaranteed compensation.
In a video posted to his Instagram on Wednesday Bliss clarified that the campaign was intended to discover new talent rather than exploit creatives and expressed regret if the challenge seemed disrespectful.
While the singer maintained that the goal was to provide collaboration opportunities the situation has fueled a larger national discussion regarding fair pay and ethical practices for professionals within the digital and entertainment sectors.
