Osun 2026: Fadahunsi Emerges as Action Alliance Gubernatorial Candidate

On Monday, December 15, 2025, the Action Alliance (AA) in Osun State elected Prince Olaniyi Fadahunsi as its gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election scheduled for August 8.

Fadahunsi received a total of 150 votes during the party’s primary election, held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press center in Osogbo. Delegates from all 30 Local Government Areas in the state participated in the election, where they unanimously voted for Fadahunsi. The event was attended by members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, including National Secretary Hon. Miller Ogwu and National Women Leaders Hadjia Aishat Abdullahi, among others.

 

In his acceptance speech, Fadahunsi expressed optimism about winning the governorship election. He stated that the party is ready to correct the shortcomings of the current administration in the state. Fadahunsi emphasized his commitment to making a meaningful difference in governance and assured his supporters that all key programs of the Action Alliance would be implemented if he were elected as governor.

 

Hailing from Otan-Aiyegbaju in the Boluwaduro Local Government Area, Fadahunsi promised his supporters an inclusive government if he becomes the next governor. He expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership and members for their confidence in him, vowing not to betray that trust.
