SOCIAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE CHANGE IN NIGERIA

A two day workshop held in Kaduna State on social protection and climate change in Nigeria.

The workshop themed: Towards an integrated, comprehensive policy framework was organized by Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) and Christian aid in collaboration with Kaduna state government on the 5th to 6th of December, 2023.

It aimed at exposing its participants to integrating social protection and climate change policy framework.

Dr Idris A.Isah of the Usman Danfadio University Sokoto gave lectures to participants on the concept, risk, roles, integration and recommendation of social protection and climate change policies.

He noted that there is need for coordination between the agricultural sector, social protection sector, manufacturing sector and all other sectors of the economy to collaborate, because the activities of social protection is not a one man business and needs a holistic approach to target many people.

The participants at the workshop where from various government ministries and parastatals, engaged in meaningful discussions and arguments the theme.
