Kaduna – The first batch of the two-week Summer Media Boot Camp organized by Procyon Radio and Television came to an exciting close on Friday 22 August, 2025, with participants treated to an excursion, certificate presentations, and a lively departure party.
The program, designed to introduce children to the world of media, saw participants undergo intensive training in various aspects of broadcasting, production AI and drone piloting. To crown their experience, the young trainees embarked on an excursion to Invicta FM, located near the Procyon media house, where they gained first-hand exposure to how a terestial radio station operates.
On their return, the children took part in fun games before being awarded certificates of participation. A highlight of the ceremony was the presence of the Chairperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Kaduna chapter, Princess Uloma, who personally handed certificates to some of the participants.
Parents and guardians also joined in the celebration, witnessing the emotional exchanges as the young learners hugged, exchanged contacts, and reflected on the friendships they had built during the camp.
The event concluded with a cheerful departure party, filled with laughter, music, and refreshments, leaving lasting smiles on the faces of both children and parents.
Organizers described the boot camp as a success and announced that the second batch of the program will begin on August 25, giving more children the opportunity to explore media training during the summer break.
