2019: APC’s Hajiya Abubakar set against male contenders for reps

An All Progressives Congress(APC) female aspirant to the House of Representatives under Kagarko/Kachia Federal Constituency of Kaduna state, Hajiya Maimuna Asabe Abubakar is set to dwarf her male counterparts in contension, promising to render unequal representation with resilience for the development of people in the area if given the mandate.

She noted that women aspiration to key political positions for leadership and good governance was not out of place for their role as custodians of character moulding, peace and stability in development process.

In a telephone interview with The Nation, Hajiya Abubakar who made a formal declaration of her ambition Sunday in Kagarko town, said it was time for women politicians to brace up with realities of time and galvanise themselves in the best interest of all and sundry.

Her declaration is coming less than three weeks to the commencement of the party’s primary even as She expresses optimism on her ambition.

The female aspirant is gathered to be in contention with two others within the party for slot.

According to the first timer with humble background” I have what it takes to deliver to my constituents the needed results and take the entire constituency to prosperity.

She described her ambition as one borne out of necessity of time to drive the hope of women to political victory with reference to the 35per cent affirmative call for women inclusion in leadership position and governance.

” I am with the conviction, hope and confidence that my aspiration will receive the blessings of the people of Kagarko/ Kachia Federal Constituency through their mandate”, She pointed out.

The APC aspirant, who seem to be the only female jostling for the position for the first time with appreciable followership across all ages and sex said nothing will intimidate her course” I see myself as  any other aspirant with credible track record, integrity and ability to lead and demonstrate positive representation among several the numerous contenders from within and outside my party.”

On her plans for the people, Hajiya Abubakar with wealth of experience in both public and private pursuits said she would strengthen and advance the capacity of women and youths to realise and harness their potentials for self reliance as well contribute to nation building.

” My cardinal focus is to be a representative that will drive the capacity of our women and youth to prosperity through beneficial legislation and promote and support uncommon policies that would make the environment friendly with window of opportunities to be enterprising.”

With basic experience in health and environmental related as well public administration services, the woman gladiator further expressed readiness to run an all inclusive representation that would launch a new sense of participation of her constituents if she secures the mandate of her people both at the primaries and general elections.

” I am working out a model for team work and mutual collaboration to reverse our negative experience in relation to the ravaging poverty by promoting beneficial economic and commercial activities to support the grassroots.

” If given the mandate and based on the focus of our party manifesto and promises, I will work closely with relevant organs as well like mind legislators to boost agricultural activities among our teeming  youths and women by supporting them with necessary inputs.” She pledged.
