After sustained rumour and speculations that has saturated the Kaduna political atmosphere for a long time about his intention to leave the APC, Honourable Isa Mohammed Ashiru, a 2015 APC Governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, on Thurday, 28 July, 2018 dumped the APC and returned to PDP, his former party.
Ashiru was received back into the PDP fold at a formal reception organized by political supporters and well-wishers led by former PDP Chairman, Alhaji Yaro Makama Rigachukun, at the Kudan Town Hall, Kudan Local Government, where he was given back his PDP card with Registration Number 001.
On why he left the PDP ab-initio, Ashiru said he was not happy with the way the party was being run then, adding that he joined APC as a coalition party with the strong optimism that it was going to be better administered than the PDP, but that was not the case.
Ashiru also said though, he left the PDP for the past three years and eight months and has kept a sustained relationship with members of the party. He then called on all eligible electorate to ensure they get registered, as that was the only weapon to get franchised.
Other PDP stalwarts at the reception included two former Speakers, Kaduna State House of Assembly; Honourable Mohammed Yaro Farakwai, Honorable Abbas Sarkin Fada, Ambassador Sule Buba, Dr. John Ayuba, Honourable Godfrey Ali, Honourable Ado Hot Audu, Honourable Shehu Ahmed Giant, among others.
