2019: ‘Our campaigns ‘ll be issue based’ – Wamakko

By Ado Hassan, Sokoto

LEADER of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Sokoto state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has reassured that the party will dwell on issue based campaigns inorder to give people of the state hope and opportunity to make APC candidates and party their preferred choice at the polls.

” Is the only and sure way to raise the consciousness of electorates above trivial and cheap political recognition”, he noted.

Wamakko who is the Chairman, Northern Senators Forum( NSF) made it known at the inauguration of the campaign committees for the Sokoto North Senatorial District and councils in the zone.

According to him, the state would be better and feel the sense of good governance under the party with window of opportunities for all to thrive and benefit from a people oriented and implementable blue print for sustainable development.

He explained that ”  we have a vision to transform and reposition the state on the path of prosperity through rejuvenating its potentials for the benefit of people of the state “

The lawmaker, maintained that taking the state and its people to the “Next Level” is key to the vision of the party with a view to further institute and sustain the change mantra agenda.

” We will not digress from the real and practical issues which have not been addressed by the current PDP government. The dearth of infrastructure, unemployment and absence of responsive policy thrust which are key to sustainable economic and social transformation have been visible in the last four years of the sitting government.

” We will justify reasons for our call on Sokoto people to jettison the opposition PDP and go with our party. APC is the way out of the shackles.

” The insensitivity of the current PDP government in the state to making infrastructure a cardinal priority is fast alarming and a drawback against the expectations of our people.

” Such deficit is fast affecting the strength of hope and confidence of our people in the government which APC is set to reverse with vigour if it secures the mandate of electorates in the state”, he assured.

The immediate past governor of the state who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, also observed that the future of the state lied with the youth and women of voting age who must see reasons with APC by objectively comparing notes to extend their mandates to the party’s candidates across all levels for rapid transformation of the state.

” As we flag our campaigns across the state, we call on all and sundry especially our supporters to be law abiding and peaceful. It is a journey to success for the state and Nigeria by Gods willing. We are also seeing the signs with the impacting spade of defections from the PDP to APC and the growing support for our party in the state”, he envisaged.

End.
