2019: Union urges Tambuwal to run for president

Labour union under the auspices of National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, (NUTGTWN) on Tuesday called on Governor Aminu Waizir Tambuwal of Sokoto state to contest for president in 2019.

The union made the call through its Secretary General, Mr. Issa Aremu who also said the union would throw their weight of support behind the former HoRs Speaker if he accepts to run in 2019.

Aremu, while addreasing the 29th annual conference of the NUTGTWN in Sokoto said the union was fully in support of Tambuwal to contest the 2019 polls due to his past antecedents.

According to the union Scribe, Tambuwal has done well during his stint as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and is also moving Sokoto to greater heights, adding that he has an impeccable political reputation and respect.

He further described Governor Tambuwal as a shining example of exemplary leadership and as such should contest in the 2019 presidential polls.

” Tambuwal has the basic features of a true leader and patriot that can be put to test by Nigerians seeking good governance.”

He maintained  further that tje governor has what it takes to move the country to greater heights and as such the Union would support him if he decides to contest in 2019.

“When the Governor choose to answer the prayer of the poor masses, we will be there to give our support . So, we want him to contest in the 2019 polls,”Aremu said.
