D’banj released, calls out Minister

Entertainer, Oladapo Oyebanji, popularly known as Dbanj has revealed why the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) released him from custody and has charged the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, to provide evidence of money traced to his account.

Dbanj asked Farouq to explain to the world how he came about the allegations of money linked to his account by the ICPC.

Speaking through his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Dbanj threatened to institute legal action against the Minister and ICPC over the alleged money linked to him.

Describing his arrest as an injustice, Dbanj charged the minister and ICPC to apologize to him for his arrest.

Recall that Dbanj was detained on Wednesday for allegedly conniving with some politicians and banks to divert N-power funds.

The singer had through his lawyer said he had no contractual or incidental relationship with any group or persons within or outside the Government.

He had also challenged the ICPC to name the officials and politicians, involved in the said deal.

Dbanj, was, however, released on Friday after three days of detention.

Writing on his Instagram page, Dbanj said he was released on self-recognition because the ICPC found nothing on him.

He maintained that ICPC detained him unjustly because nothing incriminating was traced to him.

The singer said it was embarrassing that the ICPC could link him to N900m fraud without any evidence.

He also thanked Nigerians and expressed confidence that the ICPC will unravel the truth.
