Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, is set to officially resume plenary sessions with other lawmakers today, Tuesday, following the completion of her six-month suspension.

The assurance of her return was provided by one of her lawyers, Victor Giwa.
The upper chamber had previously shifted its resumption from September 23 to October 7, 2025, extending its annual recess by two weeks and deferring deliberations on several key national priorities.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team has issued a strong warning to the Senate against any attempt to obstruct her entry into the chamber.
They insist that the Kogi Central lawmaker has fully served her punishment and is, by constitutional right, entitled to resume her legislative duties.
According to Giwa, any move to block her resumption would contradict the Senate’s own resolution and risk plunging the legislature into “total chaos.” He expressed optimism, stating his belief that “the worst is over.”
